At Johansen, we feel that a proper fit is the most important element in ensuring a comfortable shoe, unlike most shoe companies that insist that your foot fit their limited sizes. With more than 100 sizes available, you will look good in your Johansens, and your feet will be comfortable all day long. Our styles range from evening wear, to office professional, to everyday casual.

Sure, we could make more money by closing our factory here in the USA, and making our shoes overseas like most of our competitors, but we are proud of our modern state of the art factory here in Virginia, and of the jobs that we provide for our community. We employ over 175 dedicated, experienced people between our main office and warehouse in Lynchburg, VA and our factory in Gretna, VA.

Our shoemakers are highly skilled men and women with an average experience of over 12 years. We use only combination lasts, and offer an extensive array of sizes for women that range from 4 to 13, and widths from 5A to WW. For men, we offer sizes 7 to 16, and widths in C,D,E, 2E and 3E.

In 2011, Johansen celebrated its 135th anniversary of manufacturing fine quality footwear in the USA. We look forward to carrying on the Johansen tradition into the next millennium.
